Toyota Motor Philippines is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation. It entered the Philippines on August 3, 1988. The brand made a name for itself thanks to its affordable price range and reliable vehicles.
Toyota has a vast range of vehicles with its current lineup consisting of sedans, hatchbacks, crossovers, SUVs, pickup trucks, hybrid cars, MPVs, performance vehicles, and vans. From a small hatchback such as the Wigo to a commuter sedan like the Vios, up to a huge luxury SUV like the Land Cruiser, Toyota has got you covered. This vast vehicle lineup is one of the things that makes Toyota the undisputed number 1 vehicle brand in the Philippines.
Over the course of three decades, Toyota Motor Philippines has already discontinued a number of vehicles, such as the Corona, Crown, Revo, FJ cruiser, Previa, Tamaraw, Celica, and Cressida.
On September 9, 2019, Toyota launched the 12th generation of the Corolla Altis. It came into the market with a hybrid variant serving as its top of the line model. On February 18, 2019, the Japanese automaker launched the all-new generation of the Hiace. The company chose the Philippines to be the country for its global debut.
Toyota’s trim levels come with letters associated with it. J trim serves as the entry-level or base trim. E goes one step above the J trim. G is considered to the mid-trim or highest trim level, depending on the vehicle. V is usually designated for top-spec vehicles. Q was also used for a short time in the Philippines. It was used to denote the highest trim level prior to the V trim taking its place.
